It’s not often we witness the coronation of a new monarch, so if there was ever an excuse for a neighbourly get-together, this is it! If you’re raring to get into the swing and indulge in some national pride, here are a few crafty tips to set the scene for Saturday, 6th May.
Likewise, your accessories can reflect the patriotic theme – think cushion covers, a vintage tea set, or even a gingham tablecloth. Any table or shelf can also be roped into your display by hosting red-white-and-blue flower arrangements (you can use multi-coloured vases if you have them, too).
If you have children, encourage them to draw or paint funny pictures of King Charles and the royal family to make into a collage you can hang up. Both adults and children will also enjoy an impromptu bake-off – perhaps offer a prize for the best royal-inspired treat?
One final tip – if you’re hosting a garden party, ensure you have a backup plan in case the heavens open. It’s only May, after all!
