British Heart Foundation - Pedal to Petes14th May 2015
On the 27th June 2015 the founder of turtlehomes.co.uk online estate agents will be embarking on a 750 mile bike ride in aid of the British Heart Foundation. Starting from Gloucester Richard Tuck and his partner Faye Williams will aim to arrive in Scourie in the Scottish Highlands in 13 days.
"Last year we completed our first cycling challenge and rode back to Gloucester after taking part in the London Nightrider in aid of Child Bereavement UK. It was a fantastic experience and we were kindly supported in achieving our goal by many family and friends.
One of our keenest supporters was Rich's Nan who sadly passed away shortly after waving us home, having suffered heart failure a few months before we set off. Nancy was so proud of our achievement, it felt fitting to challenge ourselves again this year in her memory.
We knew from last year we could do 200 miles in 48 hours and after much deliberation, we agreed to attempt 750 miles over 10 days - why not?!
We are extremely fortunate to have Rich's dad, Mike, and uncles, Chris and Pete, providing valuable support along the way and hope it will be an adventure we will all enjoy together and remember for years to come.
So, on the 27th June 2015 we will begin our 750 mile bikeathon from Gloucester to the Scottish Highlands, passing Nancy's birth place and former family home near Stoke on Trent and the homes of her three sons in Gloucester, Blackpool and Scourie en route.
We've decided to accept any donations on behalf of British Heart Foundation and through JustGiving, this is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to British Heart Foundation. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity."
Having already riden in excess of 1600 miles in 2015 you can keep tabs on Richard's training regime on the cycling app Strava.
